Matthew Richard Lucas is a British actor, comedian, writer, and television host. Lucas was born on March 5, 1974 in an area located in Paddington, London. He collaborated with David Walliams on Come Fly With Me (2010–2011). and Little Britain for the BBC, which ran from 2003 until 2020.
Lucas played Nardole in the BBC television series Doctor Who (2015–2017). Additionally, Lucas has acted in several movies which includes Paddington(2014), Small Apartments (2012), Bridesmaids (2011), and Alice in Wonderland (2010). . Alongside Noel Fielding, Lucas has been presenting The Great British Bake Off since 2020.
Lucas attended the same Aylward Primary School and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, as comedians David Baddiel and Sacha Baron Cohen. Lucas studied acting at the University of Bristol from 1992 to 1995, but didn’t complete so he didn’t receive his degree cert. He also worked with the National Youth Theatre, and that is where he first met David Walliams.
